Lake Tuz, the second biggest lake in Turkey and the second saltiest lake in the world, is known to be of geological tectonic origin.

In several spots, the lake's depth is less than half a meter, with some portions in the province of Konya and others in the provinces of Ankara and Aksaray. This feature of the lake allows for walking at numerous spots throughout the lake.
