Bozkır and its surroundings are located in a region called Isauria in ancient sources. Geographically the Isauria region was the northern part of the Central Taurus Mountains, politically, when it was a Roman province, in the III century CE, it covered a wide area extending to Çukurova, which also included Mountainous Cilicia.
