Amblada (Asartepe), one of Seydişehir's most important historic towns, is located on Asar Mountain, in the middle of the Kavak, Kızılca, and Yenice neighborhoods, southwest of Konya city center, and northwest of Seydişehir district. This was an ancient Roman city, which was the archbishopric center, especially famous for its wines used in medicine, during the Pergamon Kingdom. The city, which started to mint coins from the 1st century BCE, continued to mint coins between the periods of Commodus (176-192) and Philippus Arabs (244-249 CE).
