On the way from Alaaddin Hill to the Monument Square, on the right side of the street, there is a building that reflects the magnificence of European architecture. This aesthetically remarkable two-story historical structure was erected as a dwelling in 1912 by a Maronite trader called Yusuf Şar, who lived in Konya at the turn of the century. The edifice, constructed of neatly cut stone and brick, was registered in the name of the treasury in 1923 and has been used as the Governor's Mansion since that time, and was assigned to Gazi Mustafa Kemal on his travels to Konya.
