
Carpet is the name given to the weaving technique made with weft, warp, and loop threads on looms. Since the Seljuk period, there has been a weaving heritage and culture in various districts, cities, and villages in Konya. One of the leading centers is Ladik and the other is Sille. Obruk, Karapnar, Keçi Muhsine (Kiçimuhsine), Ulu Muhsine, Nuzumla, and Sille are all notable carpet weaving centers. Carpet weaving in Ladik became popular towards the end of the 17th century and has continued in the traditional sense until recently.
