Halkapınar is one of the most distant districts in the east of Konya and 173 kilometers from the city center. Established on the northern feet of the Central Taurus Mountains, the district has an area of 362 km² and an altitude of about 1,100 meters. The district is nestled into the Taurus Mountain range. While the province of Konya has a flat topography in general, Halkapınar is a mountainous district with rugged landforms. The district is surrounded by the Bolkar Mountains, known as the Central Taurus Mountains, and the Southern Mountains located just to the north of it.
