The famous Kubadabad Palace, which was built by the Architect Sadettin Köpek, the Vizier of Alaeddin, the magnificent Sultan of the Seljuks, is described by Prof. Dr. Rüçhan Arık, who dedicates his life to this work as in the following: "Kubadabad is a complex, an archaeological site, spread around the rocky hill protruding towards the lake and the Bronze Age mound called tol (local word for heap of stones) of earth, in the small alluvial plain at the foot of the Anamas Mountains, a branch of the Taurus Mountains, on the southwest shore of Lake Beyşehir. Formerly known as Hoyran, it is 3 km north of the town of Beyşehir, which is now called Gölyaka”.
