Commemoration ceremonies are held every year on the week of 17th December corresponding to the death anniversary of Mevlana, world renowned scholar and sufi. For Mevlana, death is reuniting with God, "vuslat" [reunion] in his terms. The night Mevlana passed away and reunited with God is called as Şeb-i Arus (The Wedding Night) among the people with respect to the Mevlevi Order. These ceremonies hosting the performances of whirling dervishes with the love of God assemble people from all around the world with diverse religious beliefs and offer unforgettable moments.
