In the karstic areas of Konya province, tiny lakes are formed when the karstic sinkholes are filled with water. These are the Kızören Sinkhole, the Timraş Sinkhole, the Lake Obruk, the Lake Çıralı, and Lake Meyil. While some of the sinkhole lakes are used for irrigation purposes, some of the sinkhole lakes are also of touristic value. Lakes have also been formed by volcanic activities.
