Lake Obruk

There are more than twenty sinkholes in the Konya Basin, which contains one third of the groundwater of our country. The most famous of these is the Kızören Sinkhole with a width of 300 meters and a depth of 145 meters. The town of Obruk in the central Karatay district takes its name from here. While the sinkholes are dark blue and green in the first months of summer, they turn into an indigo blue, clear color in the late summer.
