Construction on the west side of the Mevlana Lodge began during Sultan Selim II's reign and was finished between 1558 and 1567. The Mosque is one of Konya's most outstanding examples of Ottoman classical architecture. The narthex is to the north, with seven domes supported by six columns and a portal. On the right and left of the narthex, there are two minarets with a single balcony.
