Konya Archaeology Museum was established in the Ottoman period. The Konya Âsâr-ı Atîka (Ancient Monuments) Museum was founded in 1899 by the Governor of Konya, Ferit Pasha of Avlonya, in a building in the southwest corner of the Karma Secondary School. It was moved to the Mevlana Museum in 1927, to the İplikçi Mosque in 1953, and finally to its current building in 1962.
