An example of the inns established on trade routes during the Anatolian Seljuk Period is the Obruk Inn. Obruk Inn is on the road connecting Konya to Aksaray. It has a classical Seljuk inn scheme consisting of an open section (courtyard) and a closed volume. The entrance section is built as two floors. The open space (courtyard) is entered through the inn door on the long axis of the plan. On the upper floor of the exterior facade, the rooms are illuminated with small windows.
