There is a magnificent fountain called Sultan Water at the bottom of the steep rocks that make up Erenler Hill in the town center of Taşkent. According to widespread belief, Alaeddin Keykubat ordered the construction of a fountain here after he visited Taşkent and loved the taste of its water, thus the fountain is known as the Sultan Fountain.

The fountain, which is said to have been created during the Seljuk period, has been repaired multiple times and was recently renovated with three facades and a pointed arch by the Taşkent Municipality in 1998.
